There is huge offering on cultural experiences to the market that ranges from full historical tours, traditional games, theme based team builds, cycle tours to historical battlefields, Camino Walks on traditional migratory routes and so much more.
History and culture forms the background of both the informal and formal cultural programs and is custom build on the needs of the client. ATKV Drakensville Resort itself offers areas for fire activities such as stokbrood (stickbread), potjiekos, braai programs, African stargazing and tales, jukskei and so much more. The resort also has an 18xseater bus that can be used for cultural tours and site visits.
On community projects and social responsibility the Environmental centre offers a look into the traditional tribal lands of our chiefdoms of Chiefs Miya and Hlongwane. Everyday life is on offer to experience with a positive social footprint left as memory of the client. The program includes, but not restricted too – social upliftment programs, maintenance and care at orphanages, traditional homesteads visited, upkeep and maintenance of areas with significant historical importance.
ATKV Drakensville is on a major tourism route to a lot of the country’s most important sites of historical importance. The centre offers qualified culture guides that specialize in different aspects of history. There are numerous sites in close proximity to the Resort from the Iron age (about 3000years old) , fossil expeditions, San Rock Art, King Shaka and the mighty Zulu nation, Voortrekker history, Anglo Zulu War, Anglo Boer War, Cannibals in the Drakensberg, Struggle history and everything in between. Each site is treated with respect and truthful telling on the importance of the site.
