FASSET Discretionary Grant Window Now Open For Applications

SPONSORED: FASSET is the Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority, thus falling under the 21 Sector Education and Training Authorities mandated by the Department of Higher Education and Training.

The Finance and Accounting Services Sector is particularly important because it is the largest employer of people with financial management, accounting, and auditing skills. FASSET operates under the Lasting Legacy theme to curate interventions with high impact and value add for South Africa.

The SETA’s skills pipeline sees to it that unemployed and employed candidates are supported from entry into high school, higher learning institutions and employment pool (junior to executive). All these efforts link to FASSET’s mission to increase the flow of new finance and accounting services entrants to employment; develop and grow skills required in the sector and facilitate the transformation of the finance and accounting services sector.

FASSET partners with stakeholders at various levels through its Discretionary Grant to deliver skills development programmes including but not limited to Internship Programmes, Digital Skills Training, Bursaries, TVET Work-Based Experience Programmes, and many others.  These programmes are designed to support the sector while also responding to national imperatives such as serving the rural areas and decreasing the unemployment rate.

The FASSET Discretionary Grant window is now open and FASSET invites qualifying employers, Professional Bodies, Higher Learning Institutions and skills development entities to apply.
