Enaex’s Davey Bickford division has pioneered blasting technology since inventing the safety fuse in 1831 and the detonation cord in 1906. These innovations paved the way for continuous improvement, culminating in the DaveyTronic® 5 (DT5) system.

The DT5 system advances mining and construction blasting with precision, safety, flexibility, efficiency and data optimisation. Its electronic detonator’s 30-second maximum delay time ensures precise timing, reduces misfires and enhances blast design.

The new DT5 initiation system revolutionises blasting efficiency with advanced features including the DT5G detonator, Bench Monitor and Remote Blaster, enabling seamless control and monitoring. Its synchronised blasting mode can sync up to five Bench Monitors, initiating up to 10,000 detonators simultaneously for enhanced safety and control.

Enaex Africa introduced this technology to South Africa through establishing a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Secunda, Mpumalanga, in 2023, driving growth and technological development in the region.
