SPONSORED: Roche Bobois hosts talented singers of the Johannesburg Opera.

On December 2, Roche Bobois South Africa hosted the talented singers of the Johannesburg Opera to celebrate in style its third anniversary in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The exceptional voices of  Phenye Modiane, Khayakazi Madlala and Solly Motaung brilliantly accompanied by pianist Paul Ferreira enchanted the guests for almost two hours with classical arias and South African songs.

Phenye is the Founder and Managing Director of Johannesburg Opera and he obtained his Btech Degree in Vocal Art at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). He performed in operas such as Carmen, Ziyankomo, Cosi fan Tutte and many more.

Khayakazi Madlala has performed in various Opera scenes and she performed at the KZNPO Spring Season Concert. She has also performed as Evelyn in Madiba the Opera and Mimi in La Bohème.

Solly Motaung studied through The Black Tie Ensemble. He made his opera debut in La Traviata, and sang L’Elisir d’Amore, Don Pasquale and La Boheme. Solly placed at position 3 from the Voices of South Africa International Singing Competition.

This event was just another example of Roche Bobois’s commitment to the promotion of the arts in South Africa and in particular its  exceptional pool of young Opera Singers in South Africa.

An official video of the concert has been recorded and will be shared soon for the viewing pleasure of those who could not attend.

Thank you to Phenye Modiane of the JBO and Florence Thom for making that project come to fruition.
