CSOS, A Leading Advocate For The Rights Of Property Stakeholders, Is Proud To Be An Official Sponsor Of The Iconic Two Oceans Marathon Event
The event kicks off on April 2nd with the Two Oceans Marathon expo at the famous DHL Stadium in Greenpoint, Cape Town, with CSOS proudly hosting a waterpoint on both Saturday, 5 April and Sunday, 6 April to cheer on the more than 30 000 runners eager to #ConquerTheCurrent in the Ultra and Half Marathons respectively. The Expo will be taking place from 2nd – 5th April 2025.
Through this collaboration, CSOS aims to raise awareness of its vital services and offerings within residential estates.
The Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS), a public entity established by the Department of Human Settlements and mandated to oversee the dispute resolution process through its efforts to efficiently regulate the community schemes sector while providing training and development to conciliators, adjudicators and other CSOS employees, is once again strategically collaborating in a worthwhile initiative for the betterment of ordinary citizen’s lives.
The CSOS is mandated to:
- Facilitate orderly and well-managed community schemes by providing dispute resolution services.
- Quality assure and monitor all community schemes governance documentation.
- Provide training to conciliators, adjudicators, managing agents, community and other CSOS employees.
- Facilitate consumer awareness campaigns of its offerings through information dissemination.
- Monitor whether registered community schemes are compliant with legislation and guidelines.
- Collect levies from community schemes as per the requirements of the CSOS Act, and,
- Drive transformation in the sector, with special focus on women, youth, military veterans and persons with disabilities.
CSOS, in its commitment to promoting transparency about its services and the benefits of offerings to stakeholders, will be engaging with various stakeholders through an information dissemination expo stand during the Two Oceans Marathon event.
The entity has adopted an inclusive approach and calls on members of community schemes and managing agents who are decision-makers, current and potential homeowners, the media, Western Cape communities and the country’s citizens from various provinces who will be visiting the Two Oceans Marathon Expo or partaking in the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon to visit the CSOS exhibition stands. The entity’s primary goal is to ensure that citizens are informed of the crucial services offered by CSOS.
