CCIR Research Mentorship Partnership With Alma Mater International School

Alma Mater International School is proud to announce our partnership with the Cambridge Centre for International Research, offering our students the opportunity to receive 1-on-1 mentorship from Ivy League faculty members as part of their International Project Qualification (Cambridge IPQ).

In an effort to enrich and bolster the research experiences of Alma Mater students who have decided to embark on the IPQ, Cambridge Centre for International Research (CCIR) and Alma Mater International School have come together to jointly develop a customised 1-on-1 research mentorship support program, wherein Alma Mater students obtain the opportunity to develop and execute their research projects under the mentorship of leading academic experts from some of the best universities in the world. This programme is offered to students completing their A-Levels (approx. 16-18 years old).

The Cambridge Centre for International Research (CCIR)

CCIR was founded by a group of Cambridge graduates with a mission to build bridges between the leading researchers and scholars of our finest academies and the wider public. At the CCIR Academy, students have the opportunity to conduct high-level independent research under some of the leading researchers of today.

Cambridge International Project Qualification (IPQ)

As a part of Alma Mater International School’s high school curriculum, students have the opportunity to partake in the Cambridge IPQ. The Cambridge IPQ is an exciting project-based qualification where students have the opportunity to develop skills by carrying out research into a topic of their choice. Taking the Cambridge IPQ allows students to demonstrate engagement with their chosen topic beyond preparation for an exam, helping them to stand out from the crowd in both university and job applications. This is a skills-based qualification, where students develop higher-order thinking skills that universities and employers look for, including analysis, evaluation and synthesis, while also building their research, reflection and communication skills.

More resources, more original ideas, more opportunities

By partnering with the CCIR, we’re excited to provide our students access to academic mentors from top international universities who will help advise them on their research journey and offer them guidance on how to access high-quality academic resources. With the guidance from these world-class academic mentors, students are able to engage with a wider range of academic thought, explore and attempt to answer more complex questions, and contribute new and original research to the field – a highly sought-after ability in the international market.

One of the most valuable aspects of our CCIRxIPQ partnership is that students are given exciting opportunities to apply their skills and find solutions to global challenges. Students are not just taught educational theories but are given opportunities to distil insights from these theories and apply them to the real world. This ability to APPLY INSIGHT is often only found at a tertiary level, and students who master this ability are set apart from their peers. Completing this qualification provides students with real-world collaboration experience, a highly-valuable qualification that will enhance their applications to world-class universities and scholarships, and interdisciplinary skills that they can apply while they navigate the contemporary working world.
