DSV Wins At The 2025 Africa Supply Chain Excellence Awards

DSV is proud to announce that we received two prestigious awards at the 2025 Africa Supply Chain Excellence Awards (ASCEA), held on Thursday night, 7 August, at Montecasino in Johannesburg.

The event brought together leading supply chain professionals, customers, and partners to recognise excellence and innovation within the African supply chain industry.

ASCEA is a non-profit initiative that honours organisations making meaningful contributions to the advancement of supply chain management across Africa. Proceeds from the event support bursaries for individuals pursuing education in this field.

The award-winning entries:

 1. DSV South Africa: Outstanding Achievement for Excellence in Unique Supply Chain Projects

This award recognises DSV’s Precision Project Logistics in Mozambique. The submission highlighted a unique logistics project that involved transporting three 80-ton high-pressure vessels from the Port of Maputo to Temane, Mozambique—over 800km inland. The project was executed over four days with precision and safety. The complex operation showcased DSV’s expertise in African logistics, its strategic foresight, and operational excellence in delivering large-scale, risk-sensitive projects.

2. DSV Road x Everlectric: Winner for Excellence in Environmental Innovation in Transport

This award recognises DSV’s collaboration with Everlectric, a South African company specialising in electric vehicles (EVs), and a leading South African retailer, to implement EVs into its distribution fleet. Together, the partners are setting new standards in cost-effectiveness and sustainability within the transport and logistics industry. Aligned with the organisations’ sustainability goals and targets, the transition to EVs has already made a measurable environmental impact. Since the launch of the EV initiative in 2022, the partnership has achieved a total reduction of approximately 826,000kg of CO₂ emissions. This initiative sets a benchmark for what is possible when organisations come together with a shared vision and dedication to the future of sustainable logistics

“We are incredibly proud of these achievements,” said Melanie Smit, Vice President, Air & Sea (SSA). “They represent the power of collective effort, the strength of our partnerships, and the dedication of our people to deliver excellence to our customers.”

The awards evening was a memorable occasion that provided the teams with a valuable opportunity to celebrate their achievements and receive well-deserved recognition for their efforts.
