These outcomes reinforce Durban Girls’ College’s position as one of South Africa’s leading independent schools and reflect the sustained academic rigour, intellectual discipline, and high expectations that define a Durban Girls’ College education.
Durban Girls’ College follows the IEB NSC because it aligns closely with the DGC’s educational philosophy and long-term academic vision. The IEB places a strong emphasis on critical thinking, depth of understanding, and the meaningful application of knowledge, encouraging learners to analyse, problem-solve, and engage thoughtfully with complex ideas. Through rigorous internal assessment, consistent national moderation, and a broad range of assessment methods, pupils develop advanced skills in academic writing, research, independent learning, and intellectual resilience — skills that provide a strong foundation for university study and lifelong learning.
Beyond academic achievement, the Class of 2025 reflects the holistic education that defines Durban Girls’ College. The Matric theme for 2025, Lead-Her-Ship, captures a journey shaped by perseverance, integrity, and purpose. These young women have learned not only how to excel academically, but how to lead with empathy, humility, and confidence.
Exceptional individual achievements are matched by many stories of personal academic growth. Numerous pupils demonstrated meaningful improvement through discipline and determination, reflecting the College’s belief that progress and character matter as much as performance.
As the Class of 2025 steps forward, they do so as confident, capable young women — well prepared to think critically, lead authentically, and contribute meaningfully to the world.
