Woodlands Dairy’s First Choice Wins Gold Pack 2024 Award For Tethered Cap Innovation
This milestone, achieved in partnership with DLPG and Svalinn, reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainable packaging innovation.
“This award solidifies Woodlands Dairy’s position as an industry leader in sustainability, innovation, and consumer-focused solutions,” says Marisa Maccaferri, Marketing Executive for Woodlands Dairy and First Choice. “It reaffirms our commitment to pushing boundaries and exceeding our environmental goals for a brighter, greener future.”
Tethered caps, now mandated by EU regulations, enhance recycling by ensuring caps remain attached to cartons, reducing litter and plastic waste. Made from 100% renewable materials, they support a circular economy while significantly lowering the environmental footprint of packaging.
“For us, packaging is more than just preserving freshness—it’s a reflection of our values,” says Maccaferri. “By partnering with Nampak and other key stakeholders, we’re ensuring our packaging meets high functionality standards while contributing positively to the planet.”
Woodlands Dairy remains dedicated to driving sustainability and enhancing consumer convenience. “With eco-consciousness increasingly influencing purchasing decisions, responsible packaging is more important than ever. We continuously benchmark our packaging against industry standards and emerging technologies to ensure we lead the way in sustainable innovation. Collaboration is key, and we’re working with partners to introduce more eco-friendly solutions to the market. Our goal is to inspire industry-wide adoption of sustainable packaging that benefits both consumers and the planet,” Maccaferri concludes.
